Granted, it is a beautiful coin, Jade. I would like to point out, though, according to PCGS price guide; coin #4277 , an 1830 half dime in MS62 books at $475. Why such a premium on this coin ? The toning ? I know I have a lot to learn and am wondering if you might please explain. I don't mean to sound disrespectful or critical. Maybe I am just missing something.

I think bust material is underpriced, and when the collector tries to find nice original pieces they pay for them.....I wish i had the money.

not to mention its in an old rattler and imho, shot 63

Yes, would seem to be a no brainer MS63 if not a shot 64. Killer toned AU58's/MS60's are worth $300.

The value of this coin isn't so much in the toning or even the condition. It's the rarity of the variety that gives it such a premium.

Too bad. I'm looking for this type of coin (e.g. grade, look) in a common variety. That's been my challenge in buying Type coins as that some people sell them at 2x-3x retail because of supposed rare varieties, which without any disrespect are meaningless to most people. To the tried/true series collector, this H10C might represent a find, but to me it's simply a non-mainstream-recognized/attributed coin that sells for 2x-3x more than it should.

I would suspect when it was slabbed, it was slabbed as a $400 coin. But now that some people collect varieties, it's suddenly a $900

Of course, no disprespect to the original poster...I see this happen over and over again so I've gotten used to it. That is, seeing $200 coins sell for $800...and for no apparent reason.
