This past weekend was my first time out of Boston since I came up for Orientation at the end of August. It was exciting to go back to NJ to visit some friends and teachers, and it was also nice to go to Maryland (albeit only for a few hours) to visit my collection and sleep in my bed image I also brought home the one coin I'd purchased since I arrived here, which was the toned Liberty Nickel I bought in September.

Anyhoo, my reason for going home was to celebrate my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary, which was this past Sunday. The party was great, and definitely a wonderful break from school. The weekend, too, was a great break. My brother and I flew to Baltimore on Thursday night, and Friday morning, my whole family drove up to NJ. On Saturday, I took the car and went to... a coin shop! The weather was miserable, and I hadn't been to building with coins in such a long time... the summer Baltimore show, I believe. Anyway, at my local (NJ) shop, where I began collecting, I had a nice chat and bought this dollar. Then, I moved along to another shop that I couldn't frequent much, as it's a drive away, and I only had my license (and time on weekends) for so long while living in NJ. The people there are great, and I plan to go back on Thanksgiving to see what new stuff they'll have in. There, I bought this Washington and the BTW below, which I will likely put into my Dansco. It was a fun weekend, and finally, some new coins image

Now, what do you think of the BTW below? Grade it!

    Grade?

Geez, I dunno. I'll take a stab and say 63.

    Nice coin.

Very pretty rim toning on this one Jeremy and I like it a lot. As far as technical grade, there appears to be a good sized nick/gouge above the "u" in pluribus and if it is, I'd say MS63 perhaps 64. Nevertheless, it's quite pretty.image

a very tough call on the grade. I would say minimum 64 but a 65 is likely because of the overall appeal of the coin. Very pretty
