Tony, I'm losing you here, this sounds like pocket change from trips abroad.

Maybe you shouldn't have drawn the moustache on Henry with that biro!

I'm interested to know why you would spend the time and money to slab these particular types of coins (not being sarcastic, but truly interested). I'm new to the hobby and I guess I was under the impression that people slab coins for a few reasons:
1. Easier to sell sight-unseen (grade and authentication)
2. Very high grade pieces for registry sets
3. Protection/Storage
Anyway, just curious and trying to learn something.
Thanks.
The coins for my own fun collections are slabbed for protection ( the Isle of Man is a damp (wet!!!) place ).
Because I live on the Isle of Man all the coins I sell have to be on the Internet ( ebay ) and I usually only sell PCGS and NGC coins ( the one exception is the 2001 Isle of Man set ) as the buyer can verify the coins from the labels and it reduces the possible returns.
My Canadian and US coins are for my registry sets and the weaker coins are sold.
I hope that gives some idea of my reasons

Thanks so much, Tony. I learn something new everyday
One more question, if you don't mind. I love the idea of collecting one coin from each country. But if year and denomination does not matter, wouldn't you want to find the very best piece you could and have that certified?
That is, unless you're collecting a certain kind of coin from each country that is harder to find.
Thanks again! It's interesting to learn about how different people enjoy this hobby.
The S A have been sitting in a drawer for a while and I decided that they needed moving, hence having them graded. The grades were much as expected except the AU58 !!

I guess Tony didn't like my question
What about you JJ? What's your reason/criteria for slabbing???

For my own collection I like slabs due to the protection they offer, the uniformity of holders and the ease of sale should an upgrade or change of direction occur.
For the resale stuff I slab everything that has a good chance of increasing the sale price by more than the slabbing fee. There seems to be a pretty strong demand out there for moderately priced slabbed stuff, especially in high grades. I get lots of e-mails from buyers mentioning how they've been trying to get a nice one for soem tiume but had been burned on raw purchases.
The reason I asked Tony his opinions of the grades as slabbing lower value coins can give educational benefit amd I was wondering ih he was taking advantage of this. It's much cheaper to learn, for instance, how to pick out AU/MS liners on inexpensive coins than on true rarities.

Oh, and coin pimpimg is a wonderful hobby.
