They call me "Pack the Ripper"
<< <i>Absolute RIP. Worth easily 3X's what you paid (and that's conservative, IMHO) if it looks anything like the photos. >>

<< <i>Well so far the votes say you overpaid. It is very pretty but for my money you overpaid; but in the end it's all about what you think, I meen if your happy with it then it was a bargin.
Chris >>
Chris - very true...just like art work, I valued it as a buy so I am happy regardless (unless the colors are faked somehow!).
Thanks to everyone else for your kind comments.
Doug
The mitigating factors here relate to the usual risks associated with buying a coin on E-bay. I assume the question posed and the responses given abstract from those risks, and rather address the issue of whether a coin which looks exactly as depicted and delivered to the buyer in a timely manner is worth $799. Those who did not say "yes" and, in fact, that the coin is worth much more than that perhaps may need to become a little more familiar with the market for NGC66* rainbow toned Morgan dollars.
Not being the type to pay a huge premium for toners, I said "you did okay," personally, but I'm sure a lot of people who are into toners for huge premiums will think you got a rip.

If you're happy, that's what really counts.
Cheers,
Bob
I'm very familiar with this toning pattern/color progression. I believe the colors will be very vibrant, with flashy luster.
If it's a "true" 66, and knowing the market for these, I don't feel you over-paid whatsoever as many on here do.
66s with that kind of color are not terribly common. Just look at the prices the Battle Creek 66s hammered at!!
It looks just like the pics! Score!

<< <i>We want PICS!!!! >>
Really close to the pics shown above. I would say the surfaces and luster are better but no frost, as the pics may imply. The colors ARE electric. A true 66* Monster.
but if you are happy...
The obverse is somewhat fugly

The auction photo is kind of fuzzy.
Would be nice to see larger, sharper pics of that beauty!!

What I meant to say was ...... I also bought this from a clothing store!!!! I Think I will shop there again. This is a key date for proof platinums and has sold for as high as $1595 in a PCGS DCam 69.
