It looks like a 65 to me...even with a few marks on the reverse and the typical New Orleans weak strike.

From a contact mark and strike perspective I'd lean towards MS-64 (Shot 65), however I'd like to see more of the coin's luster which appears to be subdued in the photograph provided.

If the luster is very bright giving the coin high eye appeal, it could make MS-65.

Stuart, the coin has lots of luster. Unfortunately I cant do color and luster in the same picture yet.

No one has guessed correct yet.

I teatered back and forth between 64 and 65 but ultimatly went with 65.

It is amazing to see the different answers being given on this. I would like to hear from a couple of the MS65/6 as well as the 62/3 group as to why they guessed that grade.

I will reveal the answer in a bit.

I'll guess 63. It seems like they graded tough on some of those. It looks like there may be enough marks to be critical.

63, luster looks flat (though you say there is a lot of luster). Not many marks. Tilting and rotating this kind of coin would be instructive. Toning is so-so.

Well what's the grade? I guessed AU as I didn't see much luster but you have explained you were going for color so you must be implying it is mint state...so I will revise and officially guess it to be a 66 since you ruled out 64 and 65.

If it has full cartwheel luster, I'd say yes.
