I sent a question: Do you guarantee this coin will grade at least MS66 PL by PCGS or NGC?

Here is his response:

No of course Not no selelr can gaurantee thsi it is simp0ly not possible You also picked to of the very strictested companys out there. We are not proffesionals just auctioneers.

Gradeing as stated by the gradeing services is simply an opinion of a grade.

But feel free to bid as what i do is add lots of extar bonucs coins if the biddign goes high so No matter what you will get a good value in coins from us!

It sounds like a fair answer to me.

I would never want to be asked to guarantee somebody else's opinion.

The only thing I can fault him with is poor spelling and typing. The coin does look to have some nice mirrors.

A 66? I doubt it. But it looks nice.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

66 my arse. Try 63 or BB -- there is a nasty scratch running across Miss Liberty's hair.

At $70, the coin is already way overpriced.

I didn't expect him to guarantee the grade. The coin looks like a cleaned 63 to me.

I was mostly emailing him to see how he would respond. The coin does list for $1,500. image

I may bid because he will "add lots of extar bonucs coins if the biddign goes high so No matter what you will get a good value in coins from us!"

Any number of reputable sellers that I've know have guaranteed grades at one time or another. Sometimes they get it wrong. There is no "sin" in offering to take a stance on a raw coin you want full value for. If I were selling a raw MS65 seated quarter to a collector, I would certainly guarantee at a major TPG as a 65 or I have no business selling the coin in the first place. This is not a big deal.
Also shows that most of the sellers on ebay who won't do this don't know what they are doing, and don't stand behind their product.
