How does NCS conserve coins?

Is there anyone who knows the exact process of how NCS conserves coins? I have heard they don't use chemicals. So, I am curious as whether they use high pressure air ,warm water and soap. Or even some light rinsing on the coin. What is there exact prcocess or anyones thought on what they can be using?

they have to use chemicals (depending on your definition, even water could be considered chemical)

it probably depends on what they feel the problem is/are

I've heard that NCS conserves each coin differently depending on the problem with the coin. I have also heard that they have a large lab that is fully dedicated to coin conservation.

Apparently, their lab is really more professional than a kitchen sink and jewelusterimage

Remember that Maytag repairman that used to be on the TV commercials that never had anything to do?
He's now head conservor there. He also fixes the washers when they break.

My understanding is the means and processes they use are closely guarded trade secrets.

They use all sorts of chemicals. You might want to ask them yourself here

"I have heard they don't use chemicals."

Where did you hear that? I'm certain they use chemicals.

Various solvents, physical methods (sonification, micro"surgery", pressure, placing chicken feed on the coin and letting MadMarty's chicken go to town [MadMartyfication], etc.).

All are proprietary trade secrets, would be my guess, they surely don't want too much detail to get out, for fear of clones.
