pics are rather useless. it could be XF all the way to very low MS.

coinguy1 · October 25, 2005 8:57AM

The (fixed) link worked for me - the coin looks AU and possibly cleaned.

In my opinion you should run, don't walk, run away from that coin based on the images. just my opinion.

Weiss · October 25, 2005 9:07AM

AU but those colors look a little blowtorchy to me.

TwoSides2aCoin · October 25, 2005 9:08AM

I don't know ... compare the PCGS picture below and the ebay auction coin : My first thought was bodybag for not being genuine, but if it is genuine, it looks too decent a price for so late in the auction AU-50 ?
Something just doesn't look right to me.

I saw that coin when listed. To me, it looks cleaned. However, it looks like a much lower MS to upper AU coin with the typical weak strike for that date.

coinguy1 · October 25, 2005 9:15AM

I am leery of any seller, such as this one, who describes coins like that as "Gem BU". He also has an uncertified Standing Liberty 25c that he claims "could be worth thousands", which is also a lie. Avoid.

ER · October 25, 2005 9:17AM

Zero luster, is it because of the scan?

21Walker · October 25, 2005 9:18AM

OK folks. Ya convinced me to watch someone else bite. Thanks for all the responses. I did not think it was BU, but wanted your thoughts.....Thanks again...........Rick

netrubicon · October 25, 2005 10:07AM

Looks cleaned and thumbed. Very dull and boring. Weak hair details.

MrKelso · October 25, 2005 10:11AM

I blew it up a bit and i think these old eye's see finger prints all over that thing.

Run away Run Far away........

21Walker · October 25, 2005 10:17AM

Again, Many thanks...........I have run so far from this coin that I have a safety cap on my enter button......Thank you again for all your expert opinions........Rick
