PVC?

Hey folks.
I have another stupid question for y’all. Is this PVC contamination?

This is a close-up of “LIBERTY”.

I guess my real question is, if it is PVC contamination should I be storing this loose with my other wheaties? Is a Ziploc® bag a bad idea?

Thanks, y’all.

Edited to fix a gramanical error. Now it is more correctlier.

I'm bumping this because I am hoping someone can tell me:

    1) Is that PVC contamination?
    2) If I store it in bulk with my other wheaties, are they in danger?
    3) Is a Ziploc bag a bad idea?

The crap around liberty looks like corrosion to me, but the dot under Lincoln's chin is certainly suspect. I'm not sure if PVC can cross contaminate or not. Might want to quarantine it just to be safe.

A ziploc is only bad if you dont mind your "hoard" getting bumped and scratched over time. No PVC in em though!

I think a better idea would be to just visit your local bank and get some penny rolls and rollem up! It would at least minimize any damage.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

Looks more like corrosion to me, but there could be some pvc also. Either way, I would not bother with a damaged coin, and look for something problem free. I've never heard of pvc damaging another coin by proximity- but there are better ways of storing coins than putting them in ziploc bags.....

Don't waste your time with this obviously damaged coin. Spend it.

I agree with you, Perry, this coin isn’t special all on its own. It isn’t even in very good condition besides the corrosion. I have it in a Ziploc® bag with about 500 or 600 other wheaties that date from 1910 to 1919. I would hate to look at it one day to find the bag overrun with green stuff. Anyway, thanks for the answers, everyone.
