Pre 1940 Joe DiMaggio card, New York A.L. question !

I was at another card site & happened across a post from a lady who had received some cards from her aunts attic ! I know that alone sounds bad but she sent a very authentic looking scan of a very young Joe DiMaggio ! On the uniform front it had New York A.L. ! I am assuming that is New York Athletic League ? She was requesting info on the card !! The back was blank ! Her post was over a year old but I sent her an email anyway !! I am curious if they are authentic ! She evidently had several cards by the way the post read !! My question is where are these cards from, if they are authentic !! Are they the typical baseball cards or are they tobacco cards or what !! It sure piqued my interest !!!

To say New York American League doesn`t read correctly !! But what do I know !!!! The one of Ruth looks like a postcard that has been cut !! Not so on Joe D !! I hope she emails me, I would like to see the others !! Not that I could afford them, but I can pass them on to you guys I guess !! Someone here might be interested !! Oh Well,,, I`d better see what my Mantle items are doing !! Its getting down to the wire !!
NY also had a NL team too............
both appear to be from the same set................

They look like they were cut off of a larger post card.

<< <i>Ruth and DiMaggio never played for the Yankees at the same time...Ruth played the '35 season for the Boston Braves, and Joe D wasn't in pinstripes until 1936. I'd guess that this is from one of the dealers' issues that seemed to be everywhere during the 70s/80s...though it doesn't appear to be a Renata Galasso/Mike Cramer/TCMA issue. It could be an early Broder. >>
She just said in her post that she thought they were before 1940. She did not say that they were acquired at the same time . Still, I would be curious to see the others ! My main question is , do they look authentic or more like modern reprints ? What is a Broder? I have never heard that term !!
However, I wouldn't think they have a whole lot of value having been cut apart from their original state. It would be like cutting a 1963 Multi-player rookie card apart to have the Pete Rose seperately. In otherwords, the Exhibit card is basically ruined and those individual "cards" probably only have novelty value.
