Forget A-Rod and Big Papi

Maybe Podsednik is really the MVP.

By the way, this post isn't meant to incite Red Sox/Yankee hate mail, just to point out his value to the White Sox during the season and especially the post season. I know that his stats aren't as good as Rodriguez or Ortiz.

Comments

  • one hit makes him the mvp? Glad you don't have a vote.
  • Obviously, you need to open your eyes and see what he has done the rest of the season. Rather, it may be better to see what the Sox have done with him in the lineup vs. what they have done without him in the lineup. Hint: When Chicago's lead shrunk from 15 games down to 1.5, Podz was out must of that time on the DL. If you look at this, you'll see that tkd7 has a point.

However, he won't win it due to his "hard" numbers. What Ortiz has done this year along with ARod are hard to dispute in a tangible sense.

I believe the MVP voting is done before the postseason begins. At least, it used to be that way.

But c'mon - he hit zero home runs all year! He hit .290 with 25 RBI's (that's all season!). I realize he is a leadoff hitter, and he has amazing speed with a good glove, but you could say that about 25 other players as well.

When I said MVP, I meant most valuable player to his team, not the guy that wins the MVP award from the writers, so the time of the voting really doesn't matter.

Nah - the only reason Scott Brosius sucked less this season, is because he didn't play.

Couldn't agree more...though I think he sucked less last season than he did in '01.
