I bought a cull lot of Peace and Morgan $1's. 50 pieces for $350 delivered ($7/ea). In that lot was this 1928-P Peace $1, VG details but some foreign black substance on the coin. I listed the coin on ebay at $9.99 start, no reserve, and it sold for $229!

Funny thing is, I bought another lot of 30 worn Peace $1's and gess what, I think there's a 1928-P Peace dollar in that lot too. I say "think" becase the coin is very worn (PO01 or FR02) and its hard to tell, a 2,3, and 8 all look similar but the center part of the pper 8 looks different than the 2 or 3 since its closed vs opened so I'm 90% sure its another 1928-P.

What are the chances? Two lots, two 1928-P's?

Recently a local guy bought a roll of Buffalo's at a local auction for $42. It contained 20 3-legged varieties grading as high as AU-58. He came out "just" a bit ahead on that deal.

You should send out the possible 1928 to ANACS.
