  • The NHL is back??? I don't think the Los Angeles area noticed at all, High School football gets more coverage in the papers here. Actually the other day the NHL had half a page, near the horse racing forum, which is pretty sad really. It's going to be hard for hockey to recover in non-traditional markets, maybe Nashville will be the rarity.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

Right now, you have the big three sports...and then there is hockey. Most sports fans didn't follow hockey before the strike, and are less likely to start watching it now, especially when it is televised on a channel that is known for its great coverage of bull riding, rodeo, and fishing.

That's a shame since with the new rules and regulations the game is even funner to watch.

If the team keeps it up and Nashville doesn't receive fan support even after playing so well they just move the franchise up north.

I haven't seen any big change fan wise since hockey's return. Attendance has been strong; and the action has been fast.
The only thing that hasn't changed are the beer prices and hot dogs. image
  • With the exception of the LA Kings, hockey should not be played south of the Mason-Dixon Line, IMO. At least half of the league should be in Canada.

Winnipeg, Quebec, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Kenora, Fort Frances, Thunder Bay, Windsor . . . should ALL have NHL teams. It's their sport.

Florida? Phoenix? Atlanta? Dallas (Booooooooooooo)? Carolina? Puh-leez!

Hockey here in Edmonton is doing really well despite the Oilers losing streak. Sell out crowds every night.. the sold a crap load of season tickets and game packages, everyone is just so happy that hockey is back.

They should move some of the teams from the US to Canada.. Victoria would be cool.. even though it's so close to Vancouver look at the rangers, islanders, and devils.. Winnipeg and Quebec for sure deserve teams again as well as somewhere in Saskatchewan.

  • That's it, Knuckles, I'm moving my family to Edmonton.

That was my dream when I was a little kid. I was so sad when Gretzky got traded. I can't imagine what it was like for kids that actually lived in Edmonton.
