avatar change

When I came on the board today, I noticed my avatar had changed to a lincoln penny.... if that wasn't enough to make me shudder, the avatar I uploaded a couple days ago doesn't appear to be in the list - that I can find anyway...

I guess I'm avatar free once again.

Note: this wouldn't indicate that someone got into my login in and messed with stuff, would it? I have no idea why anyone would want to do something like that, so I suppose it's probably just a system glitch?

That's strange. I've seen your "reale" avatar since the Monday Upload. Ummm

    That IS strange.

I've seen a photo change before. Same Collector's Universe URL, different picture. It was originally a picture of my Swedish plate money, then when I went back, it was a picture of an actual plate, as in an old souvenir plate!

Maybe somebody else uploaded an avatar with the same title as yours? image

  • I guess it doesn't help that I can't remember exactly what I named the image... I didn't really think about it.

You're probably right, I probably named is something simple and someone loaded a same name image.

  • before I forget: mmmmmm.... swedish plate money. There's something I'd like to see in my collection someday.
  • How about a Sestroretsk ruble? image

  • .....that looks like something Mrs. Scarlet used in the library.
  • lol just kidding image

But yes, Russia did copy the Swedish idea of the copper plates too for a very short period of time. If I am right, the Swedish did have extremely large plates although I can't quite remember how big they are...

That plate is a later restrike so that's why the surface is so nice and smooth.

  • I had to pick another avatar... now the real owner is probably going to come and beat me up for wearing his clothes...

I suspect that the name that you chose for the originally uploaded avatar was the same as one that had already been loaded and is currently in your avatars place. The one that you uploaded is in the database but with another assigned name. You can look through the entire list and eventually find it. Happened to me early on with and icon upload.image
