<<WINNER IN LAST POST!>> Canadian HC 60-67 year set

Hello everyone. I am selling a few items Greyside on eBay and I wanted to point them out. One is a run of Canadian PL HC (mostly) coins 1960-67 that I put together. I purchased most of these in ICCS holders and then put them in a Wayte Raymond album. Russ is selling it for me and here is the link:

Canadian PL HC set

He is also selling a few more things for me if you want to "check sellers other items." Some Canadian and classic commems.

For your patience in letting me post this here, I am going to give away some Canadian coins that were either in that set at one point, or for some reason just grabbed my eye. The lot will consist of a 1965 Canadian dollar, MS-62 Type V Cameo, a 1960 25c HC 64, 1961, 62, 67 cents, all PL64 HC, and a pretty little toned 67 10c. Simply post to the thread and when the auctions are over I will pick a winner out of the hat. Note: all the ICCS coins have been opened, because they were in albums at one time or another.

Wow, that's a beautiful set Clankeye, you're a man with a discerning taste. I strongly recommend that the buyer leaves them in the Wayte Raymonds pages, they will tone very nicely over the years if he has enough patience. image

Let me enter your generous giveaway, and thanks for the chance.

I would hope who ever ends up with the set would keep them in the holder--but, certainly it's out of your hands once you sell.

Funny thing, I put that set together with the idea of watching them tone over the years. And then I became kind of enamored with the beauty of a great black and white heavy cameo coin. So whether they tone or not became less important to me.

Now, the patience part... sometimes I wish I had more. I have the patience to put sets together, but when they are complete... then I get antsy and need to move on. Probably a personality defect. image

Very nice set, yep about 60% of the greyside stuff I sell on E-Bay goes to Canada. Slabs are usually no problem, but that would get flagged in customs (unless Russ wants to drive across the border and mail it, but then they might not let him back!!).
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Thank you Bailathacl. I've missed the darkside. As I posted in a thread of Cosmicdebris' yesterday, I am basically starting my collection over from ground zero. Picked up this coin last week and, after my auctions have run, it will be the only coin I own.

The reverse of these 2L is still my favorite darkside design. I've found even people with no interest in coins appreciate the beauty of it.

So true, Dimitri. I'm excited about it. And every coin that I pick up from this point, there's going to be a real reason for me to own it.

It was very fun and satisfying for me to put together the PL run. I'm kind of task oriented. I actually started that set because I won those Wayte Raymond pages on eBay and I thought it would be cool to try to fill them with Heavy Cameos. Some of those dates (though perhaps modern) are not as easy to find in HC as others. In fact, I never could find a nice 1960 5c in HC PL.

Edited to add: I will quit responding on the thread, because I don't want to keep it pinned to the top. In fairness.

I think that the buyer got a great deal @ ~$11 per coin of this superb set. He's lucky that I do not collect Canadian.

Congratulations, Gene. If you would be kind enough to PM me with your mailing address I will get the coins off to you this week.

Thanks everyone. I am quite good with the final price of the PL set. It's a good value to the winner. I had a very, very enjoyable time putting it together.
