How do you tell the real differance on a 1937 d 3 legger?

Is it by the reverse hind end and shoulder exhibiting a different color?

Thanks

One has wear while the other doesn't.image

The AU58 will show wear on the hip.

Generally, I'd look at the hip to see if there is any wear. 3-leggers are tough to grade since the dies are so worn.

I actaully figured it out. Luster breaks along a toning streak was the key on the upper shoulder and hind end. It is an au 58,but MS at first glance. The obverse has no toning but high on the cheek bone it is slightly dullish grey.

I categorically deny I helped anyone. image

As to looking at the hip: Screw it....too much work. The slab label always tells you everything you need to know about the coin. Always.

    Good luck.
