Busch Stadium Changes for Games 6 and 7

The Cards announced plans to move the right field fence in to 220ft and call the section "Berkman Land." The will place a 30 foot dropoff in center field while moving the centerfield fence back to 600ft. The warning track will be replaced by a moat filled with man eating alligators and OF will have to pay a toll of $ .25 in order to cross the bridge to retrieve any ball that ends up at the base of the wall. Between home and fist base will be two rows of tires that the runners have to step in (sort of like they do in football practice). Between first and second will be a mud pit with a rope hanging down so that they can swing most of the way to second. Between second and third will be a tunnel to crawl through. And between third and home, there will be a go cart gased up and ready to drive home. They made all of these altercations to make the Astros feel at home while playing in STL. Of course after the Astros are sent packing they will turn Busch back into a real stadium.

Also, the Cards have also announced plans to celebrate there 2005 NLCS Championship during the 7th inning stretch. This also done in an effort to accomodate the Astros and their fans, as they are accustomed to this sort of thing.

All that trouble for the Astros. What class!! It makes me proud to be a Cards fan!!!

I sure hope the Cards bother to show up in Chicago now that they have wrapped up their 2nd consecutive NL Championship. Last year was embarrasing.

Love it. I think it evens out the playing field. Except I heard that it will be called "Fat Elvis Land" and not "Berkman Land". Can you confirm?

    Remember these Chuck Norris Facts

    1. When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn't lifting himself up, he's pushing the Earth down
    2. According to Einstein's theory of relativity, Chuck Norris can actually roundhouse kick you yesterday
    3. There are no such things as lesbians, just women who have not yet met Chuck Norris

My sources tell me that they tossed around "Berkman Land", "McLance Land", and "Fat Elvis Land." They finally decided on "Berkman Land."

  • My sources tell me it won't go 7... the Cards are getting schooled.

Yes we are. I can't help but wonder how Dan Haren would've fared tonight.

Edited to add: I don't think it would've mattered who the Cardinals sent out tonight. Oswalt has just been sick.

Oswalt is the man! He is a stopper. He is turning into a great pitcher. My Cy Young pick for next year!

  • Oswalt made this entire thread a moot point. He also single-handedly made Pujols' HR in Game a mere footnote for the 2005 NLCS. I love it.
