Can anyone explain why the Die-cut is a 7 and the regular is a 9? I cant see it. I could see it the other way around with the centering on the regular version. I think I will have to crack and re-submit the die-cut.

    Is there any surface scratching on the 7? It's hard to tell from the scan. What about the backs?
    I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    the die cuts that year had a choppy-ness to the tops...almost like it was cut with a dull blade.
    This leads to some chipping and cracking on the back...that is most likely the culprit here

    The backs look the same to me. I just wonder if somehow they got the grades confused.

    I dont recall any surface issues. I will crack it and check to make sure before I resubmit it. The worse that happens it comes back a 7.

    I dont think the centering on the regular issuse can meet the standards of a 9
