Sunday Night Scans

I really enjoy the "mailcall" thread, but I suspect we all have things in our collection that we might want to show off, even if they're not fresh from the post office.

So, I thought I'd scan something and throw it out to the group. Hopefully others will scan and share some of the pieces they've collected over the years, as well. While I enjoy collecting what I do, it's always fascinating to see what others are chasing.

Anyway, this is a low grade 1951 Larry Doby. I think it's one of the best looking baseball cards I've ever seen. I love the entire set, but the composition of the Doby card is nearly perfect in my book. I recently picked up the postcard on Ebay and I think they're great together. The card is signed and postmarked from Cleveland in October of 1951. I'm not sure if it's an authentic signature, but it was cheap and I bought it more for the photo than for the auto. I'd like to take on the challenge of collecting the 1951 Bowman set, as it has some stunning cards. The Bob Feller and Jackie Robinson cards are true works of art.
