Week 6 NFL at a glance.....

LaDainian Tomlinson is unquestionably the most complete running back and probably player in the entire NFL. He has a touchdown reception, a touchdown run, and a touchdown pass (again) all in the first half. Talk about carrying an offense. That's impressive.

The Vikings and everyone associated with that team is a disgrace. And not because of the boat scandel, I'm jealous I wasn't invited. At least I don't have to watch Culpepper do that stupid thing with his hands very often, you know, the "I'm on a roll" move. That team is terrible.

Joey Harrington is just not very good. I'll bet the organization can't wait to give Garcia a chance. My guess is when he does get in there, with the running back and receivers around him, we'll begin to realize how bad Harrington really is. Ugh!

Michael Vick is an athlete, but not a quarterback. There is a better QB on the Falcons bench. Completed less than 50 percent of his passes again today, with a whopping 110 yards and an interception. Sure they still won in the end, but I think they beat the team that Green Bay beat 52-3 last week. With the money he's making, he'll never move to running back or slot receiver, but he's better suited for that role.

It's early, but Denver actually looks good. Are they for real? As a Colts fan, it's nice to see New England losing (and Pittsburgh losing again helps too) because it's obvious we can't beat them head to head.

Speaking of my Colts, I realize St. Louis is struggling a little but it's the first real offense the Colts are playing this year, I'm interested in seeing how the defense performs. But was anyone else surprised by the size of that line??? 13 1/2 points?? That's a line for a good team against the Texans or 49ers isn't it?

Steve Smith is carrying my fantasy team. Nice to see him come back from the broken leg last year. Of course, if Delhomme is hurt, that's the end of that. Proehl had 5 catches this week, all on the same drive, and all after Delhomme went out and Chris Weinke came in. Smith was suddenly a non factor.

That's all for now, hope all of you are enjoying your Sunday.

how can you talk about the NFC without mentioning the best team in the NFL..the bucs!!! Pittman was running wild and our third
string back even had 50 yards rushing against a good Fish defense. Falcons got exposed today...it shouldn't of been that close..they are
    lucky they have Dunn!

Vikes are pathetic...but I think we all already knew that!

You know Kevin, I think that "good" fish defense is the same one that gave up 170 yards and 3 touchdowns to Steve Smith. So I think the defense is only good on reputation.

The Bucs do look good, although I'd be worried about Griese giving an important game away with his interceptions. Is he hurt that bad? Getting Williams back will help.

I'm sure if the Bucs met the Colts though, it would be bad news for your boys.

The Colts will have played two poor defenses in two weeks now. If they can hold the Rams to under 6 points then I will be a believer.

The bucs are for real..Griese will be ok

The Eagles will still win the NFC and this season's Super Bowl. Just like a horse race where the longshots sometimes get the lead, the Bucs, Cowboys, etc., will be fading down the stretch and the class team, the Eagles, will be first at the finish line.

The Steelers really missed Big Ben today - Maddox looked rusty, and threw 3 picks (including the game ending one).

What's the deal with Cadillac anyway? He's been MIA for 3 weeks now - though Pittman filled in nicely today for him. This Simms kid is a good backup QB, and he also did a nice fill-in job today for Griese.

The Giants blew their game today, by giving Brandon Jacobs the ball at the goal line in the 4Q (he fumbled)...but they came back to tie it in regulation anyway before losing. The Cowboys just don't look that good - and I think they will settle back down in the next few weeks.

When you have a fantasy team built around Moss and Collins - this isn't exactly a great day.

  • Lions were playing good defense all day, whatya think they do when Carolina gets the ball with less than two minutes?

    Prevent Defense!!!

Next thing you know, Weinke's looking like Joe Montana. Way to go!!!!!

Caddy is healing. He is a gem and John doesn't want to break him down. Everyone knows you have to stay healthy to win. Our defense
is just plain shutting guys down! You don't have to worry about your #1 RB when your #2 and #3 guys are rushing for close to 200 yards.
Galloway is also killing it..something like 8 td's in 7 games....and you wondered if him going down in week 1 last year hurt the bucs..DUH

So far, it looks like what I said at the beginning of the year is true..the real beef is in the NFC South. While Atlanta doesn't scare me, they
are putting together nice wins. No one wants to play Carolina....now they are even more dangerous with a Nole at QB...and of course
there is the bucs...rolling like they did in 02

Seattle looks good, but only at home. NFC North is a waste...East is weak too....look for 3 teams to come out of the NFC South
    this year in the playoffs!

You're kidding right? If he doesn't want him to 'break down', then explain THIRTY SEVEN CARRIES in one game? And is it a coincidence he hasn't taken the field since?

177 isn't all that close to 200 yards.

Caddy's injury I suspect is a lot more serious, though he does have an extra week off now.
  • Overall good analysis Shawn. I do have to disagree about Vick - I know the #'s aren't there, but as a Falcons fan, I don't give a flying F about the #'s. These guys win when #7 is at QB. Sure the game was close, but look into past meetings between these teams and you'll see most games were decided within 7 regardless of what they did the prior week. And a disproportionate about of the public was on the dirty birds - a near sure sign the Falcons wouldn't cover the 6.

I agree about your Colts. They are clearly superior to the Rams, but 13.5 is too much, especially considering the Rams are also a dome team. I think the Colts win, but by a smaller margin.

Next week's meeting between GB and Minn will show who truly wants the #2 pick the most. The #1 pick is most certainly going to Houston.

That's what I think - and if he misses anymore time this season, the Bucs are going to be in trouble when they start playing tougher teams.

Pittman rushes for 150+ against one of the better defenses in the league and you all say we is in trouble??? LOL

I mean how much rushing do you have to do when you defense is giving up a few points a game??? The fish scored their only
td after the bucs 3rd string back fumbled at his own 4.....before that they only had 6 points!!!

again....someone tell me who are the tougher teams in the NFC??
