I dont think this is a 1940 collectible, I think its a folder that might have sold for 49-cents as recently as fifteen years ago.

    It very well might have sold for as little as 49 cents 15 years ago. That has nothing to do with the date of issue. For that matter, as late as 15 years ago one could have bought many of the silver trimes to fill it for 49 cents apiece.
    Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

    Are you saying this Whitman folder was issued in 1940??? I dont think so.

    Very easily could have been since according to Whitman they have been out of print since 1953.
