Ya get the feeling that

someone thinks "Rookie RC" is just a term that means "nice card."
1970 Butkis Rookie

Edit to add: The Seller says he made a mistake, but the title is still misleading.

Naww....he's just trying to play the 'keyword' game on eBay searches....more than likely.

good point - some people do use the term Rookie Card to describe any kind of card. Either they are not familiar with the actual meaning of Rookie Card or they're spamming the word. In either case, credibility loses points, IMO.

I am guessing he is keyword spamming...this was in the description

<< <i>You are bidding on the 70 Topps #190 Dick Butkus PSA NM-MT 8 Rookie pictured below. WOW! What a Gorgeous card! Almost a PSA 9! >>

Wow! I wish PSA would tell me when my cards are ALMOST at the next grade.

If eBay knew about this, they should immediately cancel the auction and keep the fees. Seller then could relist the card properly. Sellers should be required to list honestly. It is hard for me to give the seller the benefit of the doubt on this one, he/she seems to be a very experienced eBayer.

As far as claiming the card is "almost a 9" that doesn't bother me too much. He could have listed it as a PSA 9 rookie and then corrected himself. Card has good eye appeal, but small scan leads me to believe there are problems. Possibly soft bottom right corner.

I would hate to see a novice collector win this card and find out later it's not a rookie. This hobby has enough problems with credibility.
