Card identification help needed

I know these are both issued by Sertoma in the 70's.

There seems to be confusion on the year.

I know the left one is 1977, but the right one is often listed as 1977 even though I "think" it is really 1972!!??

I thought they were both '77, but I wasn't buying either set in the '70s so I don't have any way of knowing for sure.
  • The SCD Catalog only lists 1977 for Sertoma. The one on the left looks like the 1977 "puzzle back" edition, and the one on the right looks like the regular Sertoma Stars set from 1977.

I believe the Killerbrew card comes from a Sertoma set from either 67, 68 or 69. Check out this auction: Sertoma.........If you make the assumption that the players were active and playing for the team in the uniform they are pictured in when the cards were printed then, the only possible years would be 67 or 68.

Add: Don Buford had long since retired (1972) in 1977.....Why would they make a card for him then?????

Krausse is showing those as 77's .
  • According to Beckett Card Alphabetical

    Both are '77

    Buford 4 and Killebrew 15.
