Lost in the Yankees losing the ALDS....

...is the great series Jeter and Droid had. I would take Jeter in a playoff series over ARod any day.

So.......I think you are saying that even in loss, it's great to have good home grown players versus mercenaries? That MO.

The irony is that Jeter wasn't even that good this series. He made 14 outs compared to A-Rods 13. Until getting hits his last two ABs when the series was virtually decided Jeter was a sparkling 5-19. Better than A-Rod, but certainly not Mr. Clutch.

Let's just hope the Yanks five a way to move A-Rod.

Yes, Treetop, Jeter, Cano, and Wang come from the Yankees Farmless Farm System. Chacon from the Colorodo Rockies was a GREAT steal by the Yankees. Although the way the season ended was a disappointment for us Yankee fans, there were a lot of positives to build on the future like Cano, Wang, Chacon, and Small. It is going to be very interesting next year to see how Wright and Pavano fit in. Pavano has a huge contract and unless he doesn't come back from his injury, he will be in the starting rotation.

Droid is not home grown but I agree it's better to have good home grown players. The key players of the 1996 Championship team were home grown like Jeter, Bernie, Pettitte, and Rivera.

To be honest, I don't think the Yankees will count on Small for anything more than middle relief next year. Not that they don't need it, but I think Small had an awful lot of good luck this year.
