Hi ajaan, I bought some nice coins from HB at the ANA show in SF in July, but since then, I've sent them 2 emails regarding coins on their website. Til now, no response image Hope their customer service is better for you!

FilamCoins, I have had nothing but great service from HJB. Once bought an Aethelred penny from them, submitted it to ICG and it came back not authentic. Notified HJB and they refunded my purchase price, slabbing fee, and all shipping expenses.

    Nice coin!

I got outbid on one of their other coins -- by a lightsider! imageimage Yet another sign that big players in the U.S. market are paying attention to numbers on darkside slabs.

I saw you were bidding on some of their coins. I thought the reserve would have been higher on the 1887 Crown I won. It is listed at $75 in EF (Krause).

I wonder what the reserve was on the William and Mary 3d. If that was a no-reserve auction, I might have fought harder for it. image

They never replied to my inquiries either. I generally don't inquire any more.

I was in Chicago within the last two months and stopped in there and they have a fairly new World Coin Guy... he was friendly and was pleasant to deal with. Jammin' J... consider giving them a second chance.

edited to add: Nice coin Ajaan

If something good came along I would. They're not on my "never do business with" list, just the "only if it's worth the headache" list.

Harlan Berk is generally well respected and I think you do not have to worry about anything you may purchase from his company.

You should be on pretty solid ground with him. A fantastic shop in person too!
