Elizabeth II Sovereign Question

Just wondering if anyone has ever seen or heard of the Mary Gillick proof sovereigns.

My catalogues have the 1953 as museums and national collection only but there are some made in and after 1957.

Spinks has prices quoted for them, but has anyone actually seen one?

Yes, I have and they were beautiful.

Go to Session I - LOT #422 ff.
  • Thank you very much, that is heartening to know they do appear. I was beginnning to give up hope.

Would a price about 2x those estimates get close to purchasing one now?

Set myself a challenging long term goal and one of these is needed to get there.

    Yes, that would be close.

    They sold as follows:

422: $6612.50 (hey, I could have gone the fiddy cents image )
    423: $6325
    424: $6612.5
    425: $8625

It seems I've seen one other, but I can't access the site in question to confirm.
