OT: Being an Ebay seller in North Dakota may get harder

Need an auctioneers license to sell on Ebay?

Brother, brother.

I don't have a problem with the government regulating businesses, but this proposal seems way over the line. How would a ND auctioneers license help Ebay sellers? Can you imagine spending $795 to $1,625 for instruction in rapid-fire speaking, breathing control and reading hand gestures....and you're selling online?!?

It said California is looking into something similar. I better study up on reading hand gestures image

I think Ohio tried this earlier this year, and backed down. They'll all end up exempting ebay.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

    I do, I'm a libertarian.
  • Ohio did try this earlier but quickly excluded ebayers after a huge public outcry. I remember hearing Ebay even sent a team of lawyers to Ohio to meet with goverment officials the next day after the announcement. I think the bill did pass but it is ONLY for actual auctioneers at auction houses. It just seems the goverments are trying so hard to capitalize on the popularity of ebay, luckily they haven't found a solid way so far.
