82Topps Wax Rip - Update

All,

Purchased a box of 82T and 78 OPC from BBCE. Packaged beautifully as usual and recvd within 3 days of ordering. Kudos to Steve hart and team, as usual.

First, I am without a scanner and can't run the risk of asking one of the admins to do scans for me - can see the boss now "Ah, please no more ripping packs during work time".

I was not expecting anything great - sans a submitable Ripken for at least an 8. Needless to say, I was thrilled to pull 2 Cal's (er, Bonner's as I now see some people calling them! That's too funny....Imagine being Bob Bonner's kid....) - - in the 1st 4 PACKS.!!!!

No more Cal's after the 1st 2 - but I did pull a few other nice cards:

2 Rickey stickers
1 Ryan sticker
2 Baines
2 Henderson
3 Rose
2 Schmidt
No Nolan Ryan's however.

I will likely submit the Cal's - nice corners, and centering is good - but I have a feeling I will get 8's not 9's.

Commons are on me if anyone needs some.

Will rip the 78 OP during MNF and the Yankees tonight.

I remember back in 1988 buying a 1982T wax box. That was a lot of fun ripping. I did get a Ripken (psa8) which, coincidently, is on ebay right now and a Ryan (psa8) that I cracked since I wouldn't get grading fees for. The one thing that I remembered from those packs is the number of rough cut cards.

I was awfully disappointed with my 82 box. Tons of gum stains, no ripkens, no ryans, 1 henderson, no roses. UGH! What do we do with those stickers?

Nice 82T boxes sell for $100-150. No need to pay more, as they are aplenty. A PSA 10 Sticker of Henderson or Ryan will yield at least $25.

My 78 OPC box was a disaster. Unsearched of course from BBCE, but almost 100% of cards had a slight tilt. One of the best cards was the 1 Murray in the box - but if I get an 8, I'd take it. 78 OPC Still has the best tasting 25 year old gun out there.

I now have 2 complete 78 OPC sets after opening 5 boxes. Sets are 25% MINT, 50% Nr-mint-MINT and 25% NR-Mint. Sets can be had for $150 including insured shipping - PM me if interested.

I feel stupid but I don't remember any stickers in the packs. What are those? I have a box of 82T cello at home. Does it have stickers in it?
