It's a good thing he didn't rate the two coins in the links MS75.

Think what a Newbie may of paid then. Legit sellers are always putting a grade on their raw coins in Ebay auction descriptions. "I consider it an MS65 but I'm no expert. You be the judge."

What's the difference that he stuck it in a slab and put his grade own grade on the label? Second tier (third tier) TPG's do it all the time.

I bought a 1961 Franklin Half PR70 in an SGS holder today. Do I REALLY think it's a 70? Heck no. PCGS and NGC have never rated one that high. But for $11.93, I bet I could crack it out, send it to PCGS and still get a 68. (I hope.) I could be delusional, but I'm gonna try.

Selling a ultra rare $2.50 gold coin that I sorta owned, and wasn't able to deliver. (Almost did HARD time for that one)

I was young then, I've learned my lesson.

While the seller doesn't specifically call the coin "certified", the auction is very misleading. Couple this with his "All sales final" policy and you've got the makings of a scam artist.

went down at $111, to a 'lucky' bidder. common 82-s at best, on a good day, an ms64. i think the 'winner' over bid(?)

and too often, when i sell a decently graded, no problem, UNC common morgan, i get melt bids. seems i need some of these grade yerself holders?

You noticed this, too? It's a real shame that the honest sellers take a beating while the scam artists thrive! I have noticed that the ebay prices for raw Morgans in the circulated grades has improved tremendously so I started going that route instead. The BUs simply weren't worth it since I wasn't willing to overgrade and mislead in my auctions.
