funny that after the white sox won game 2 of the series, len vermin said that this would mean that the red sox would have to face contreras again in game 5. i am still expecting jason stark to say on baseball tonite "don't count the red sox out, they know how to come back"

Most sportswriters are from the east coast, and most are in bed by the time most west coast teams play...why do you think the PAC 10 gets so little love?
<< <i>Of course they do...thats the region the generate more income than any other! >>
Yes, I am sure that has a lot to do with it. Let's face it - Fox is not going to be happy with Angels / White Sox in the ALCS. The Red Sox and their long suffering fan base made for great theater last year, and the Yanks always bring the Yank fans along with the millions of people who love to root against the Yanks. Boston vs New York has produced game after game that even non-baseball fans get into watching.

This also is true. I watch a lot of PAC 10 college basketball, and the games don't often end here until 2am. Casual fans aren't going to stay up for that, and get to know those teams and players...and the same applies for regular season baseball.
