I am simply asking if getting to the postseason is enough for Steinbrenner? Or has his selling off of his young talent been why they haven't gotten over the hump and won it all?

No, for Steinbrenner the end game is to get to and win the World Series right now. I think if he had kept the young talent we wouldn't have even gotten to the World Series these past few years. Rookie teams usually don't go far.
