You always have your die-hards. Speaking for myself, I love hockey, but refuse watch any of the professional games any more. At least not until I'm ready to forgive them anyway. It took me four years to forgive baseball after that last strike.
I do watch a lot college hockey though and think that's just as exciting if not more.
I'm happy about it! Hockey is a great sport. Although I'm not a huge fan, I really enjoy watching it ...especially in person. But, I tried to watch any games last night and could not find anything on any station. I don't want to pay the full season package thing through DirecTV because I'm not a hockey nut, but I wanted to catch a game somewhere. I remember hearing something about ESPN not renewing their contract with the NHL, but does anyone else have a contract to show games nationally?

Games are now on Outdoor Life Network, which was probably best know as the home of the Tour de France prior to this. Unfortunately I don't have a high-definition TV, but I think HDNet is also supposed to show one or two games per week. May need to start saving for a new set since hockey will probably benefit from new TV technology more than any other sport.
Anyway, I'm pretty surprised that arenas were as filled as they were last night. We'll see if it lasts.
I'll ignore that last stupid comment after watching McNabb shred my Chiefs apart single handed. I am going to put that performance up there with a few others like Jack Youngblood playing with a broken back most of the game. McNabb could have easily bowed out like some girls in the NFL, but he earned my respect last sunday. And if i recall i saw another gamer playing last week with 2 broken thumbs. What's lame is how the Chiefs thought single coverage would work against T.O. Apparently--NOT!!

why do hockey fans (all of them) get so sensitive?
tell a football, baseball, or basketball fan their sport is lame - no biggie.
tell a hockey fan the same thing - ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE
