SO some jerk wants to add those 4 missing cards from the national, that suppossedly should have been in the 55 set, in to the set registry for the 55 topps. Does this dummy realize that these cards would have to be graded as "star" cards since they are hof'ers? UGH! Sorry to vent but I am really pissed about this, it makes no sense. I know many of you have had issues with player sets and soforth, but c'mon!!! These cards were not issued in the playing years of the players and FOR CHRIST SAKE they were printeed 50 years later. DOPE!

And spending $48. to grade cards that may be worth, at best, half that is just stupid.
It's bad enough every auction house is listing sets on the registry, as well as groups of speculators banding together to get to the top of many sets, but now some jacknut wants reprints mixed in with real cards?
I vote No!

Always looking for 1957 Topps BB in PSA 9!
For the record, I WAS TOLD AT THE NATIONAL BY PSA THAT THEY WOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE SET. I bought two sets of the cards based upon that information and it was only after submitting them for grading and PSA changing their tune, that I inquired as to the reasoning behind the decision. I also started the 55 Topps "Missing Numbers" thread in an effort to solicit input from this board.
To be attacked in this manner is ridiculous. Some of you need to get a life. RipublicaninMass appears to be the type that is emboldened when hiding behind a computer screen. It really isn't any harder to be polite than to be obnoxious, even if people like RepublicaninMass don't seem to realize that.
I DO appreciate the civil replies from posters like CooperJJ, WinPitcher, smallstocks, lamontcarter, and acowa.
The others, who seem to have maturity and/or ego issues, might try reconsidering making obnoxious posts before they get the complete story. I would never have brought it up, if I hadn't asked PSA first, been told that they WOULD include them, then having PSA change their decision after I had bought the cards. And, BTW, I don't think buying two copies of each card is exactly trying to "corner the market", disrupt the sacred Set Registry, or whatever else some of you fear.
Have a nice day. Collecting is supposed to be fun. It looks like some of you have forgotten that.
<< <i>it is irrational to think that cards printed 50 years after a sets issue date should be included as part of that set. even topps would not consider these to be genuine 1955 topps cards. i seem to agree with the majority of republicaninmass's posts just not his political views >>
And I really don't care how many of your little fellow clique members want to characterize asking a question as stupid, moronic, irrational, astonishing or whatever. Just like a-holes, we all have one and I think it's pretty amusing to see the degree to which some people get worked up over a simple question. The inability to rationally discuss a question, ANY question, says a lot more about those people than it does about the person who posed the question. It's CARDBOARD, folks, that's all. Some of you might want to consider expanding your lives a bit if you can get this riled up about baseball cards. It reminds me of the people who live and die for football. Depending upon whether their team wins or loses, they spend the ensuing week either ecstatic or depressed. There are a helluva lot more important things in this world about which to truly get worked up.
But again, RipublicaninMass, just HOW did I ruin the registry? Certainly you can back up what you alleged with some FACTS.
