BBCKid AWOL?

Has anybody spoken w/ this guy in last month? His site is on the blink and his answering machine is only response I get?

The 10% off orders over $500 was really sweet. Maybe BBCExchange can invoke this buyer-friendly amenity huh?

Who wants to take this bet. BBCK is winding up shop and preparing to come over to PSA.
  • That should drive PSA's fire insurance rates through the roof...........

First of all, let me say that Mark is one of my better friends in the business. He had the same webhost that I had, so when my website disappeared off the face of the earth, so did Marks. He has other things in the works right now, so he hasn't been as active as he used to be.

Also, guys....sometimes for me to get case fresh boxes that nobody plays with and touches, I have to pay through the roof. ALOT of times on quality unopened items I make 10-15%. Yes, thats it. Sure, you can save some money on ebay. But you always get what you pay for. I have gone to war for some people who got screwed who saved money by buying unopened items on ebay. Is it always worth it? Sure sometimes it is.....and sometimes it wasn't worth not sleeping that night. Therefore, I just can't offer a 10% blanket discount on orders over $500.00. If I can talk people into taking some 1988 Donruss with it, then sure. But as it is, sometimes my prices are a hair under people who offer 10% off. I guess I could raise all my prices 7%, then offer 10% off! But as much as people try to beat me up on my sell prices, believe me it's even tougher on my buy prices. If I'm offering to pay $1000 for an item...I never get it at $1000! It's always, always more than my buy prices(unless of course it's 1998 Donruss!)

The best way I know how to sell unopened material is to pay as strong as I can to get fresh, untampered and virgin material. We then offer it at the best price we can to pay bills, pay employees, pay taxes(yes, we have to do that also!) and still feed my daughter. We buy it for price A and sell it for price B with the best quality product I can offer. No games, no searched product, no questions asked. We didn't get our reputation by accident. I was taken as a young teenager buying unopened stuff. It wasn't pleasant when I took it in the end.

Thanks to all who read these boards and have given me high praise! We work so hard and travel so much, I usually have to be alerted by others when an issue I need to read comes along. Please feel free to e-mail me on anything. I will always do my best for pricing, shipping and service.

Also, I'll take that bet on who will be authenticating for PSA!

    Thanks! Steve

you think bbckid is going to be the pack authenticator at psa????

there was another post regarding psa's endeavor into the pack slabbing in 2006.

    Thanks,

There are many people who gouge in this business, but Steve definitely isn't one of them. Unopened material is expensive- it's not like he goes to old closed down pharmacies and buys an entire stockroom full of 70s and 80s material- that just doesn't happen any more. Everybody knows what they have and what it's worth. My guess is Steve's willing to pay more than most in order to keep his inventory strong and keep us addicts coming back to his website, even if only for a look.

By the way Steve, I have a 20 cases of 88 Donruss if you're interested in it. I might even be able to find some 90 Fleer lying around. Just kidding.

Lee, you have any 1990 score? I heard foreignors float to the US on cases on them, but I can't confim.

I opened all the 90 Score last week looking for the Bo Jackson FB/BB and Kevin Maas RC.

There was a rumor on the CLCT Yahoo Message Board that the PSA pack grader is [a poster in this thread]. Maybe that's why Steve is willing to take the bet.

    I'd like to see it.

I thought you meant he was "member of tribe" so celebrating Rosh Hashana this week and thus he wasn't returning calls!? image (j/k)

Happy new years to any MOT's.

I will say that BBCEx gave me great customer service.

I picked up some 83T vending that was awful - not Steve's fault - boxes were pristine.

He took the unopened back and going to give me from another case in hopes of getting me some cards that aren't totally OC.

    Thanx Steve
