  • Why is it that the OT threads are always the longest? image

I may not post too often, mostly because of my work schedule, but I'm not going anywhere. But I do peruse the other coin groups that have any 'worthy' world coin related threads. This one is still the best.

I'd like to end my part in this thread with a PM I sent another member in response to GCL.

It is never easy to rid oneself of another undesireable soul. Who are we to make such judgement, have you no empathy, where is the milk of human kindness, etc .

As a society, we tend towards such egalitarianism that rarely is one brought up rudely, made aware of his/her disconnect, and given a chance through this kind of revelation to enter a period of introspection and beneficial self-awareness.

Criticism is not necessarily negative; it does need to be accurate however, and to the point. Many such points were made here that were designed to be helpful to GCL, observations and suggestions made over a lengthy period of time. We fulfilled our obligations...

Of course no one wants to do this kind of thing again, and I would share your tendency to stay away from another conflict of this sort. Trolls of all kinds used to inhabit this arena in the past; far fewer are observed these days because this forum and its members are politely, logically, and emotionally involved in its future, and this forum is rather self-regulating in a way that has always pleased me.

    Yes you do.

If you happen to have a copy of the thread where-in you stated your intent to go to Japan (that would be Japan, with a capital J), please re-read it. Maybe it will sink in. Maybe pigs will fly. Maybe I'll be home in time for Halloween. >>

  • Seems like cointalk has grown tired of him already, i've tried to be really patient and lenient with him but if you'd read that thread on cointalk well i think he just proved you all right.

Word has it that he registered again under a new name and was banned after six posts and one thread.

  • He's left another forum under a cloud as well... he lasted less than a week there before he started dishing out nasty comments to members.

Sigh, you are right of course, I shouldn't snap at the <insert word of your choice here>. I can be provoked, it's not nice, but true. Shockingly, there are still a few people who don't know that I can cuss like a sailor--especially when provoked. In this case I can only say there were extenuating circumstances image

But, I'm home so maybe there are some flying pigs out there. And maybe GCL will find his peace too.

I think most of us have been giving GCL the benefit of the doubt that he's (basically) a "confused" teen with some growing up to do, but that he's acting in good faith.

The more this saga goes on, however, the more I think that GCL is something else -- someone who is intentionally annoying and provocative just to get attention. Someone, in other words, who knows what he's doing and does it on purpose for some immature purpose.

I find it hard to believe that anyone acting in good faith could be so dumb. Therefore, I infer that he's not acting in good faith.

I agree. I wasn't worried about that fine bidder. It was just an interesting and amusing coincidence in light of all the stupidity that went on here around the forum GCL. I hope he's learned his lesson and doesn't resurface again as yet another alt-ID like "tensoranalysis."

By the way, welcome to the forum.

Hey GCL (I know you're lurking), you're still either a troll or a dim bulb, IMHO!image
  • A lot of people's patience has crashed against the rocky shores of GCL's ignorance.

In retrospect perhaps we should have encouraged him to actually collect gold coin forgeries. Would show him just how easy they are to spot and how they are not exactly common. Best of all if the deal sours and he gets sent a real coin what has he lost?

    Edited to add:

The darkside spirit of education and sharing will survive.

  • He's persistant;

    Link

He's really got it in for us because we made him by that coin off of that dealer, and boy has he got it in for the dealer.

Funny he doesn't reply to my posts in his threads much these days... image

  • I could barely stomach 15 seconds to read through this thread (and other GCL threads) so I am probably missing something. However, I have a question: Is all of this drama over a small bullion coin? Do people collect Angels by date/grade?

    Bullion? Yes!

Drama? Ritalin or similarly-based, or PURE TROLL. IMO, the child missed out on some good a$$-whoopins when he was younger.

Angels? I s'pose you could collect 'em that way. We'll probably have to wait for a French Registry before it's full-scale......image

    No...Lord God no!

Let's just let this go-there, I've dropped it. It's gone. Peace towards all men and go forth and collect what ye may.image
