MOSH and 1972 Set is legit

My original post is below that I am going to retract. After discussions with collector's that I know personally that have dealt with the MOSH I have to retract my statement. I have found out from very respectable sources that the MOSH is indeed one person's vision. This is the quote from a very trusted collection source.

"MOSH is formally organized entity, and the goal one day is a physical
museum. However, one man is the vision behind MOSH, makes all of the
purchases,"

Original below.

I sold a PSA 10 Dave Williams #47 to Mint State at the National and they in turn sold it to the MOSH. After the National I got an email from PSA saying I need to remove that card from my set. So, I did.

But what do I see over the weekend. My PSA 10 for sale in the SMR magazine at Mint State for $499? What is going on here? How can the MOSH have this card registerd on their set when Mint State still physically has it? I got a good deal for the card, so I'm not pissed that way but I think there needs to be a MOSH police out there because if this is how they normally get their sets up to #1 they are not being 100% honest.

I don't know about the the rest of you but I physically own 100% of the cards on the registry that are under my name.

Maybe I'm just sour because I found out MOSH is a bunch of people and not one person, but it just does not sit well with me.

  • The advertising for the SMR probably was sent in by Mintstate prior to it being sold. Its no longer on the their website for sale so MOSH likely does own it

    Geez.

    Loves me some shiny!
  • I was interested in the Williams myself to bump up my 72' Chargers Team Set. I called MS and was advised that it was already sold. I've had several dealings with MS and have never found them to be suspect. Their SMR ads are always 1-2 months behind actual inventory. While their website is more timely I've also found dead stock there as well.
    As for MOSH.....well, enough said!image

Thanks for setting me straight guys. I actually got an email from Mint State explaining the card was sold and that he has to get the ad in early so the card was gone before it was printed.

"How do you know MOSH is a group of people?"

Good question? Is that what MOSH wants the public to believe? Nothing like good PR. Maybe a personal shopper with multi bidder names buying for one client? Hummmm.
  • What is "his" ebay id? Anyone know?
  • I believe it's "Museum_of_Sports_History"
Baseball is my Pastime, Football is my Passion
  • Guys, why do you have to trash someone you don't even know?

Why not ask, who he is, or what he is doing?

I know for one, it is one person who is building a preistine collection.
  • who's trashing him?

Right, I don't see any trash talking or name calling. Please explain?

My bad guys. I read some posts that said the MOSH was a collecting team and not an individual like the rest of us. I apologize for the rude remarks and have edited my posts. I'm the guy who called him/them a piece of crap. I edited my post and take full responsibility for the message boards wrath 'cause I wrote my replies in haste.
