Big News!! After defeating a ranked team for the first time in god knows how long, the Cornhuskers received the most points of "other teams receiving votes" in the AP poll!
OK, big deal, but the win over Iowa State is big step in the rebuilding process and the Husker's transition to the West Coast offense -- they passed for over 400 yards!!! Should be an interesting season!!

nope, but Michigan does

Perhaps, but the pollsters probably will not believe NU is for real unless they beat Texas Tech next week. Despite last year's drubbing at Tech, I think this year's game should be a good one!
<< <i>You'll be fine now that Mike Hart is back. Michigan seems to be a different team with him. >>
I agree, but the up and down Henne has me worried about the Penn St. game, they have momentum and self confidence going for them now.
keep stinking it up why not!

<< <i>I hardly think beating Maine and a sorry Pitt team 7-6, worthy of being anywhere near the top 25..but then again if the pac 10 and sec
keep stinking it up why not!

So what does beating a Div 1-AA team mean? The Citadel is worthy?

The key word is "beating". They're undefeated and beat a ranked team. And talk about unworthy...how do they justify two 2 loss teams in the top 25?
I remember an unknown Illinois quarterback that threw for over 620 yards against Ohio State in 1980 or 81. Ohio State won 49-42 but that game probably changed Big 10 Football forever. Mike White was the head coach at Illinois and the quarterback was Dave Wilson.
Nebraska, while it has a very rich and successful tradition in College Football, the very idea of 400 yards passing in a game is revolutionary for them...
