Windex is stuff used for cleaning windows.

Despite the unpopular move to the Docklands, Coinex was as busy and well attended as in previous years. Although there were plenty of coins on the bourse floor, it was - as usual - brutally difficult to find and buy anything fresh and interesting.

The DNW, Spink and Baldwins auctions preceding the show were all well worth the effort. Plenty of fresh material, but the room was packed and there were few bargains. The most interesting sale was Baldwins, anchored by the Boyd collection, a numismatic time capsule assembled in the 1890's. It was especially fun to see Baldwins sell coins for the Boyd family that Boyd purchased from Baldwins over 100 years ago!

As MrEureka mentioned (nice meeting you, by the way!) it was an unpopular move to the Docklands. Although the venue was very good, albeit diffcult to find (lack of signposts, etc), I am pretty sure it will move back to the centre of London next year.

BTW, the London Coin Fair is on 5th November - is anyone thinking of attending that one?

thanks for the replies... where there any truly tough and rarely seen coins that surfaced? A Henry VIII Testoon or a high grade mint state Charles II crown? The location comments are nice, but not quite what I was hoping to hear about...image
