Sigismund III Polish Trojak help needed

Just got a nice bunch of 7 Sigismund III and Stephan Batori silver 3 groschen coins, but need some extra help on figuring out the correct mints as well as fair market or retail value of each piece. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

I don't know anything about coins from this period, but if you want to do some research on your own, check out the last WCN auction in Poland. On the left hand side are links to medieval kings of Poland like Zygmunt I Stary and Zygmunt II August. Some of your coins might be there. The price results in Polish zlotys is here.

You might also check out the Polish auction site Allegro, which lists coins in the date range 1506-1586 and 1587-1668.

The best bet is to pick up a copy of the four volume Edmund Kopicki treatise, which has probably all the varieties. The prices are out of date, however, since the book was published in 1995. Sometimes one is being sold on Ebay or Allegro, usually in the $70 price range.

The attribution of varieties among these early coins can be quite tricky, so unless someone else here has specialized knowledge, your best bet might be to do the research yourself. Good luck.
