    The 1862 coin was marked as EF and the guy I got it from is very, very conservative in his grading.

  • I have only two early Thais and they are warped and wavy, don't know where they are now or how the got bent.

    The design of Thai coins is unmistakable, sometimes I find them a bit too much. And yet that Thai version of Britannia is simplicity at its best.

    You're right Don the three-headed elephant Airavata is the mount for the Hindu god Indra. In Thai, Airavata is known as Erawan. I've been to the Erawan Museum south-east of Bangkok. Beautiful pieces Don I also have a 1915 Baht but it is not toned like the one you got. Very nice pick of thai coins.
