A case for no divisions

Hell every team in the NL East would be in first place in the NL West. The Padres might be the first MLB team to win a division with a sub .500 record. I remember in the strike shortened year in 1973 the Mets finished 3 games over .500 and ultimately went to the World Series only to lose to Oakland. It has happend several times in the NHL when sub .500 teams get in since so many teams make the playoffs. The 1981 Houston Rockets led by diminutive point guard Calvin Murphy were 40-42 and went to the finals but lost
If all teams were lumped into 2 leagues and the top 4 taken, the Angels could very well be the odd team out.
Having no divisions would be oh so boring though. Every sport has them and they bring out the competitive nature in geographic areas of the country.

That's hilarious!!!
<< <i>well the wc takes some parity away, but the nl west absolutely blows >>
How hard it is to switch the Tigers with a team in the NL west anyway, hell, we might stand a chance then.
A one year swing should do away with the whole system?
What a dumb idea, spammy.

Yeah, then you would have none.
That's what I mean Gemmy. Immaturity.
