I'm new here...I guess this is my odd introduction...
I use a stock book as a stamp album should i?
I only do so since I DO NOT ...ABSOLOUTLY DO NOT like stamp hinges...they bother me.

Welcome. A stock book is quite sufficient for small collections. You will find that there are many other mounts besides hinges. You might want to look at these sites.

Stockbooks are fine for storing stamps.

It's just that most people (that i know) use them for storing stamps for trade/sale
I used to go to ummm... this us coin forum thingie i hated it evryone was rude to me

And yes, I do like the original gum condition! I once hinged a mint stamp and ruined the back
