Raw coins for gold dollar typeset

My wife got wind of my intention to build a gold dollar typeset with ms63-65 grades. After looking at some of the prices, I've been told to rethink my plans (I may have been a bit optimistic in my enthusiasm).

Can I get names of dealers you're familar with that deal in raw gold coins say in the VG and up range?

As a gold coin collector, I cannot think of any dealers who specialize in raw gold. Because of the problem with counterfeit gold coins, most collectors prefer certified, and most dealers that I know sell certified. Furthermore, I think that you will have a hard time finding circulated gold dollars in the VG, F, and even VF range. They simply did not spend that much time in the circulation. Perhaps an AU type set would be most appropriate and stick with certified. These coins will be more liquid when you decide to sell.

I'm a database admin for a software company in Calfornia but I work remotely, at home, from southern Utah. My wife often looks over my shoulder as I'm surfing so she knows what I'm looking at. There is such a thing as "to much togetherness"! Coming up on 20 years with the same woman.

There are a lot of raw gold coins out there. Unfortunately most are raw for a reason---cleaned, fake, bent, solder on the rim from jewelry use, scratched, tooled, repaired, etc. Do yourself a favor and buy coins slabbed by ANACS, NGC, or PCGS. If you want them raw, crack them out.
