Not one of you Yankee bashers admits what a great pickup Chacon is

All you trash talking bashers ever say is they picked up another team's trash. Yeah, right. You know that ole expression "One person's trash is another person's treasure" ROFL

  • How did Colorado let this guy go? He has been a stud for us.

  • He sure has been. All I have been hearing on this board for months is how the Yankees have poor pitching. Well, you know what?....for the last 2 months since they got Chacon and Small went on a rampage they have been getting great starting pitching. Their weankness had been long relief. That is all about to change as 2 of their starters move to the Bullpen for the playoffs. And their 8th inning guy and closer have been superb all along.

Now the Red Sox, that is a different story, incosistent starts and poor middle relief. The only releiver pitching decent is Timlin. A catsup stained sock is about to get shoved up someone's mouth.
  • Well our starters did suck for a long time there. Wong went down, and all of a sudden we had two pitchers.

Chacon, Small, and the return of the Wongster have been HUGE!

  • I wonder if they will put Mussina (if he is healthy) in the Bullpen for the playoffs? I would go with Johnson, Chacon, and Wang as starters and Mussina, Small and Wright in the Bullpen with Leiter as a Lefty specialist. I think I might forget about Embree, although he might be goood in the Red Sox series as a haunt. image

Now what's that suppose to mean? Seriously, please explain why you say that.

I suspect that Torre will go with experience - Johnson and Mussina the 1 and 2 with Chacon rounding out the field. I've never been much of Mussina fan so I'm not too happy about it, but that's what I expect.

  • I tell you if it wasn't for Small the Yankees wouldn't be here. It will be a pleasant tough call for Torre to make.
  • Yankees head into the playoffs with a

    Leiter Wang, and Small Johnson.

In other words, the Yankees suck. I will post no more on this subject until Oct 7th, once the silly ALDS is completed.

  • <<Yankees head into the playoffs>>

Doogie, at least I I see you are resigned to the fact. image

$85 million in payroll for pitching alone....

....and you're bragging about picking up other team's scrap.

    PATHETIC>

  • Point meet case.

    What are you talking about?

'Your' team spent $85 million on payroll, right?

'Your' team had to go out and pick up other teams' garbage just to get through the season.

    And you're bragging?

  • Yes

Good to know 'your' team is going into the last week of the season resting their hopes on castoffs and scrap heap.

Sad, really, when $85 million isn't enough to field a team's pitching!

What an ugly, jealous comment this is. I really don't need to "defend" Schilling, but lets see one of your 20 starting pitchers (or anyone on your roster, for that matter) show that much courage, determination, and heart - in a spot where the results have proven to be legendary for his team.

And, how can you "brag" about Chacon after all the terrible signings, moves, pickups, whatever - of the 2005 Yankees? He's the best you got? Wow.

  • ctsoxfan, how does it feel to be on the precipice of having your team eliminated from the playoffs by the Yankees?

Ah Gemmy - you should know better than to say that, especially with 4 games left to go. There's a lot of baseball to be played yet, and I am not worried in the least. When I see the Yankee pitching mess, it gives me confidence.

  • ctsoxfan, if the Yankees knock out the Red Sox will you admit they had a better team?

How does it feel to not be a fan spammy?

You know, I've come to the conclusion you aren't a fan of any team.

You like the yankees, you follow them because of how many world series they've won....we all know this.

I'm no Schilling fan (I despise his politics and it's clear he wants to be a politician when he's done with baseball...that's another story), but the determination he showed in that game after getting beat up in the first start of the series was unreal. You have nothing to beat that...no matter how many players the yankees buy, no matter how many wins their bloated payroll gets them, they'll never have that. So you turn into this vile, foul-mouthed goon and profess hate against a man who epitomized what 'giving their all' means.

Your team was on the short end of the biggest choke in all of sports history...no other team can EVER top that....and it burns you up.

You aren't a fan of any team...you root for the yankees because it's convenient, because they've been successful in the past. You post thread after thread about the smallest of happenings in yankee land, trying to convince everyone you're really a 'fan'. But deep down, you know (like we all do), that you aren't. You aren't a fan of the game, you pretend to be into it.

Now, do us all a favor, and get lost.

If that actually happens, I am a good sport - and I will acknowledge the defeat accordingly.

But, that's not going to happen.

Hey, I will too. Did it last year if you remember.

  • When it comes to nasty Yankee Bashers silence is golden. Continual Yankee bashing violates CU TOS.
