I am one of the lower guys on the block Maybe someone can sell me a group with high population numbers or whatever to help me on my way up!

Thanks much

yes, I know I can search up and down E-bay and win one or two here and there but I 'd prefer to not put that ime into in and save someone listing fees at the same time! We both win! if there are other offers for cards I need I am open. please write.I have nothing really to trade for these right now~

    Hey there,

Might want to post this in the '72 thread instead of on its own. But, I don't know how many folks are willing to deal 9s, even in bulk, at $11/card. Most of the 9s go for at least $15 or so. But, never say never. Could be someone trying to unload a hundred or two of these on 'ya and make a quick deal. Good luck!

Dave Read has some PSA 9's up with BINs about as inexpensive as I have ever seen.

Wow, I do not collect 72s, but those are some great BINs for 72s.

  • Even with the inflated pop numbers for those cards being offered by Dave Read , I would say it's still a good deal. The average 9's with pops over 10 have still been selling between 17 and 25 for the last month. 12.50 is rock bottom for a 9 and I can't see anyone being able to pick up many at that price.....especially since the 8's are still averaging 9- 10 bucks.
On the other hand there are bunch of tougher 9's listed that could be had at a significant bargain, especially since the faucet is about to be shut off....image

Wow, our set is really exploding, isn't it?

More and more folks are interested in picking up graded '72s. I made a deal for all of my 72 dupes and got another couple of inquiries after. I hope that those folks just getting started or getting re-energized about the set don't push the price up too much on the low pop stuff. image

  • The low pop prices have actually declined a bit. The Dunning I bought last night was $10 less than the first one I purchased. It usually takes the new guys a little while before they start targeting low pops.

If anyone is selling 9s in the sub $15-$20 range (price to be based upon scarcity), I'm a buyer. After the current supply glut of nines works its way through the system, I think we will see prices return to the $25-$30 range for 9s. With the cost of unopened material and high quality raw sets rising, there is no way to sell nines below that and still cover the cost of the cards and grading fees.

I just listed about 20-PSA 9's and have 70 or so 8's just come in, I'd pack all the 8's right up for the right deal.

That is unbelievable. As much as I appreciate the 72 set, it's not even worth mentioning in the same universe as pre-war sets, esp. the awesome E94 one.
  • I just wanted you guys to know I love 72 topps too! I mean I was 14 then and you know how 14 year olds are when they play baseball. I just have no clue as to the value or degree of interest in the set et. I can see a lot of people are trying to put it together! But all I was really asking for was a group to kick my set into a respectible level of appreciation!

Alright! Alright! I collect the 75 mini's as Well! ~~~

Well, we have that in common Marz....I'm a huge fan of the '75s, especially the minis. I've got a box coming with about a hundred PSA 8 commons that I should be getting anyday now. Once I add those, I'll start climbing the hill towards your great set!

  • By late next week I'll have about 110 PSA 8's available for sale, and would prefer block sales. Prices will be to move. For a preview of what I'll have you can track the upgrades in my set which is the current #4 finest, "Watergate Summer". More upgrades will be posted by the middle of next week. 80 upgrades were posted this evening, and all but the HOF'er cards will be available.

  • I was thinking more like the summer of the "Spinners" and Elton John".................and this place called "Campland" in San Diego where parents from all over the country brought their campers and familes and much like a prison from WW2 you basically lived 24/7 for a week or two meeting lots of other "stand by me" crowds of kids with nothing to do either!

    image anyone do these???
