What? ANACS advises shipping coins in poly bags?

A. You may purchase from ANACS a kit with one hundred 2½" X 2½" soft flips and one hundred polybags in a cardboard box sized to fit our slabs. The cost is $14.25. You can place each coin in a polybag, then put the polybag into the 2½" X 2½" flip, which is ANACS' standard format.

Quickest way to a hazed proof, as PCGS long ago advised not to use poly bags ...

Does anybody submit proof coins to ANACS? image

  • I really don't agree with how they want you to submit coins. The poly bag and slipcase, don't look to nicely toward the coins.
Why can't they just let you submit them in white cardboard flipcases?

Most people just leave 'em in the bodybag from the other service. image

If you want to, you can submit them in white carboard flips all day long and they'll still grade them. Just like PCGS, the submission guidelines they give you are suggestions, not requirements.

    I don't like them.
  • I submit A LOT to ANACS........ Every coin I submit is placed in a staple closed 2x2, and then put into a 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 flip......... Never a complaint from ANACS, in fact always a notation that says "Your order was well prepared"........ No fuss, no muss........ image

Just for fun, I once placed one of my coins in the submission loose in a 2x2 Envelope, I still got the "Your order was well prepared" notation, I think it's just automatic.
  • ANACS is so brutal on proofs.... you're almost guaranteed to get a point or even two higher elsewhwere.

Also I just got back a 1960 LG/Small Date 1960 1c proof that has a smudge in the field that I am absolutely certain was not there when I shipped it to them raw.image

But on the whole, they do a good job. This is the first complaint I've ever had with ANACS and I use them frequently.

  • I'm reconsidering sending my submission to ANACS with this holder change coming up. I called them this morning and they were like, huh, what, oh, that hasn't been announced yet. But, they said it would be a "while." I like continuity and don't want to have to re-submit later if they go to a larger slab.
Everything I write is my opinion.

    Looking for alot of crap.
