Rob - nice results. Did you send them in the original holders or did you crack 'em out 1st?

Scary - sent in the ICCS plastic. I am dumbfounded by the 44-C. I thought it might make 60. Belzberg's was 63-RB for freaking sake!

Must have caught a different grader than I did. I cannot get ICCS coppers to cross unless I crack 'em out. Please post a pic of the 44C upon its return.

Rat - And a little luck o' the draw. You know I bought the 44-C on the Bay of E for about $100. I'll take a little self credit because knew it was nice enough to send in for a possible upgrade, but I had no idea! - Rob

  • bosox...any problem having to pay customs duties when ICCS returns your coins when they are above a certain value?

Susan - I send them to Brian with a customs slip that says "Sent for expertise only, not for resale." He sends them back the same way. There is no customs duty on rare coins coming into the US, but this makes it abundently clear that this isn't a sale of goods. I have sent packages worth $10K to Toronto and got them back without incident, knock on wood. - Rob

I ask you for a picture and offer an opinion, but I am so Canuck copper bound now that I am not qualifed to render an opinion on the ever popular '48 dollar. Good luck!

  • Thanks for the help, Rob! image

I bought it as a MS63, but PCGS graded it as a MS62. I'm thinking of breaking it out and sending it to ICCS.

Crack outs are an emotional experiencefor me. I don't do them unless I'm certain. I'll pay lots of futile grading fees to send them in for cross grades in their original holders before I crack 'em out. Just my partly inebriated thoughts at 11 PM (PDT).
