Has anyone else noticed all of the errors in this year's book? The chronological index located in the back of the book which is used to find what page a particular set is located on is not correct. If it says the set is on page 358, it is probably on page 297. This goes for all of the sets listed. Also, there are sets listed in the chronological index that are flat out missing. They are not in the guide at all. I still like the guide but it makes it difficult to look up something quickly.
Always looking to buy old Minnesota Twins and Vikings memorabilia like Nodders, Photo Pennants, and Photo Buttons.

Loves me some shiny!
reference guide to identify odd ball cards, and all the other items that Beckett doesn't list
anymore, which is most things. What items are now missing? I know they might have to
limit some things out because of the size of the book. But that's why I buy it, since it has
just about everything.
<< <i>I memorized the guide about 10 years ago. Its all in the ol noodle.
Same here (except it might have been 15 to 20 years ago). Thats why it always amazed me that most dealers at shows or shops, cant buy or sell unless they open up a Beckett or price guide.
They do a disservice to the hobby by omitting certain things in order to include others. With all the new stuff that is coming out each year it just doesn't make sense to keep making it bigger and bigger, or cramming the same information plus the new information into the same amount of pages. Look at the Beckett monthly's. They use to be readable and more inclusive, now the printing is so smal,l and in like what 7 columns or something like that?
if they put out managebale sized volumes split into convenient parts, such as "pre-war gum", "cigarette cards", or whatever, I think they'd have a winner. Most collectors don't collect everything, and so they wouldn't need to buy every volume, just the one(s) that applied to their interest.
If the football guide ever got that big, I'd surely be infavor of a multi-volume reference catalog.
Also, if they split it up they can be be more detailed within each volume which would only be a plus for everyone.
And if you are afraid it will get too expensive, compare it to the standard catalogs for stamp collectors which now come in 6 volumes..........at around $50 per!
I'd say 2, maybe 3 would do it for BB (maybe pre-war, post war-1980, and 1980-present)
