What a gutsy performance by the Eagles. Makes me proud to be an Eagles fan!

Comments

  • Akers looked like he was in serious pain, who are they gonna pick up?

I hear Gary Anderson is available, and can still hit from 30 yds...
    Am I speaking Chinese?

They have a kicker on the practice squad. Guaranteed he'll be activated for the next game no matter how Akers looks in practice this week.

I think Akers could sit for a few weeks, at the very least just kick field goals. Problem is, who do you cut?

Yes, it was a gutsy performance. After whooping a bad team, the Eagles showed they can also win a late one ...

It seemed as if McNabb was nursing that chest injury - he nearly came out (didn't he?) I was listening on the radio to highlights and they said he nearly came out of the game. Combine that with (almost) no kicker and it was a gutsy Eagle performance.

He took a hit in the 3rd qtr that obviously stung. I think the Eagles are gonna run at least twice as much next week. They better, as McNabb should not be throwing 50 times a game with a bruised chest.

  • That was gutsy play from mcnabb! Suprised they didn't run more to protect him.

Good question - I've seen situations like this before when a team might go into a game with only 2 quarterbacks - but with McNabb being banged up, that can't be done. Akers has a high tolerance for pain & endurance as he has practiced the martial arts for many years...but no matter how good he might look in practice this week...no way can we have a situation like this again with no kicker...so that practice squad kicker is going to have to be activated.
You're right about sitting Akers out for a while...I've had hamstring injuries and the darn thing just lingers - it doesn't heal very fast.

Philly is weak. Exposed by a bad AFC team. This is a home game that they win easliy last year. Raiders have no d and still stuffed
Philly all night. This isnt' playoff football, this is what happens when overpaid athletes don't have heart. These pansies are going
    no where but the couch!

Jesus Joe why don't you just shut your damn trap already?

You give buc fans everywhere a bad name. Need I rememind you we barely squeaked out a win against the Vikes in week one? And that today's game could have been anyone's game if that PAT hadn't been missed?

If you actually spoke up and said something intelligent people wouldn't hold you in such low regard. All you do is say 'this team sucks!' and 'that team blows!' when the Bucs are fortunate (very) to be 3-0.

Nice way to dodge your idiotic comments Joe (as usual).

Not going to admit the bucs squeaked by the awful pack and a potentially bad vikes team?

Not going to admit you saying the Bucs were the only undefeated NFC team?

Not going to admit you don't know football at all, and you act like the bucs have won the superbowl already?

I've never indulged in fantasy football, but I've started looking at the idea and it does intrigue me...I think I would enjoy it and may start doing it next season.

You'll be fine with McNabb, if you ain't BSing me here saying you have him. Even slightly injured, McNabb is the best quarterback in the NFC and it's not even debatable. It ain't Brett Favre anymore and it isn't Michael Vick.

Best fantasy quarterback in the NFC could be argued as Bulger in St. Louis.

if your gonna call that gutsy? then cowboys deserve that also. we were on the road and defense played like sh$t. but found a way to win our 2nd road game of the year. we should be 3-0 right now.

looking at this week i see cowboys are in trouble. facing a desperate team on there turf 0-3. i still see boys 10-6 this year and playoffs. will Mcchoke be able to play with us week 5? or the injury bug gonna get him next week?

McNabb could play the game in a wheelchair and still beat the Cowboys.

in my mind Westbrook is the mvp so far for the Eagles. McNad has look bad in 2 of the 3 games they have played and they haven't
exactly played the best defenses in the league.

McNad has killed my fantasy football stats, even though I would say so far this has been the year of the defenses. I know plenty of
Manning owners who are 0-3. There is one thing that the experts did get right...Peyton is not an overall #1 pick in fantasy football..anyone
who picked LT is now smiling.

The Eagles are going to lose Westbrook, and then they are dead

Anyone taking a QB or WR in the first round deserves to be 0-3.

First two rounds are RB, RB....QB's are way too up and down to ever spend a high pick on.

Im 2-1 taking manning first round! getting willie parker in the 13th round is a awesome pick! also steve smith in the 7th i think.

I got McNabb in the third round, and managed to get both McGahee and Alexander in the first two rounds...add Portis and Parker and I am
set even though Clinton has been a bust so far. All the mags were picking Smith as a sleeper!

I got Cadillac Williams in the 6th round, and I'd be 3-0 if Matt Stover had only missed 2 kicks in week one instead of all 3.
