Overall, they were very close to each other, but it seems like the further back SCD Authentic went the tougher they got. Some of then were predictable, like the Maynard was nearly perfect except for the centering so SCDA with the subgrades gave it a 8.5, but I knew it wasn't good enough to be higher than a PSA 8. This was also my first PSA submission so I learned a lot and thought they very fair and accurate. Some of these are selling on ebay right now through a friend if you are interested.

You're talking about Sports Collectors' Digest, right? The one with the red circle.

The "other" SCDA is Sports Cards Direct Authentic (clear circle), which I would put in the same group as GEM, KSA, and the like. 'Sports Cards Direct' bought all of the Sports Collectors' Digest slabbing equipment, but none of their grading personnel. They didn't even care to change the logo.
  • The one with the red circle.

You beat me to it. I was going to ask the same thing.
I would be very surprised if it's the Sports Card Direct (the blue circle)
that crossed over that well. Gotta be the old red circle flips.
    Please let us know.
  • Yes, the old SCD Authentic with the red circle. I've seen some of this Sports Card Direct stuff and it's horrible. Sorry for the confusion.

  • Did you submit them raw or in the SCD slabs?
  • From reading these boards enough, I knew to submit them raw and not in the SCD slabs. I didn't want any bias involved.

Looks like I have another company to add to my list of "buy em cheaper and cross'em". Very nicely done. I've seen a few small submissions 1-3 cards that people have done and had good luck. This was nice to see a larger sub that did very well. I have purchased a few GAI graded cards that I've later crossed into the similar PSA holders with very good results. It's nice, especially when you can get the same grade for upwards of 25-50% cheaper than in a PSA holder already.

    Congrats.
  • I have a couple od SCD-graded cards. I am going to keep them in their original holder because it looks like they are becoming scarce due to the crossovers. image

I've crossed 3 SCD football rookies recently...All 3 were SCD 9's, 1 crossed to PSA 9, the other 2 crossed to PSA 8..But since I paid less than PSA 8 price for the SCD 9's, the risk was well worth it..
